Raquel Matos

Raquel is an excellent competitive swimmer. Her greatest achievement is winning 3 Scottish Junior titles, being chosen twice to swim for UK School games in Aug 11 and Inter Counties Championships to represent South East Scotland. She has numerous Scottish age group records and East District age group records. Raquel swam for Holy Rood High School and been gold medallist for the last few years. She is fully committed and has trained for the last 8 years with East Lothian Swim Team where subsequently she has been entered for the Olympic trials for 2012, Commonwealth Games 2014 and Olympic Games 2016. She is a fantastic role model for younger girls in the team. Raquel also participates in swimathons and to her further credit, she volunteers as a marshal at other events where she is not competing.
