Rachel became a volunteer coach when she was 13. After taking her Level 1 coaching courses as soon as she was able to, Rachel put in 2 years of voluntary work for Trampolining and Gymnastics to gain more experience. Rachel now teaches children from ages 3 to 15 years old which cover a great range of varying abilities meaning lessons have to be adapted to fit the needs of each year group which she is able to do effectively. In the past year Rachel has had to take on a lot more responsibility in planning and delivering the content of sessions as well as dealing with waiting lists and organisation of groups to ensure each child is in the right group to gain as much out of the session as possible. During term time Rachel works three nights and Saturday mornings as well as studying for her A levels and volunteering during her free time at school. During holiday time Rachel is involved in a lot of sessions at Park View and also at the Riverside where she has volunteered in tennis camps, multi-sport camps and dodgeball, allowing more experience to be gained by working alongside other coaches. Rachel is committed to gaining more qualifications and in addition to her Gymnastics and Trampolining qualifications, Rachel also has H5 Netball and recently became a qualified tennis leader and athletics official. Rachel has also completed JSLA and CSLA at Hermitage Academy and is now going on to do her HSLA.
