Rachael Rowden

She is a refuge support worker in a womens refuge and so on a daily basis helps women and children who have suffered from domestic violence and abuse. She also works for free raising money for the charity all the time. She does presentations and awareness raising talks when she can, she organises large sponsored walks and fundraising balls to raise money- all as a volunteer. She even organised a skydive raising almost a thousand pounds! She also takes part in a drop in to provide domestic abuse support and advice to the local community and is always prepared to work hard for the charity. She does this all while managing her job and being a single mum. One day she will be even more of a shining light in the field of domestic violence and abuse and will change the way that it is viewed. She is a future light and a bright one at that.
