Philip is a keen fencer and as a result has trained as a coach, one of the youngest in Northern Ireland and helps out each week doing mini fence classes at local primary schools. He helped at the British Transplant Games and at the Boccia World cup which took place in Belfast over the summer completing 172 hours in voluntary work. As a result he has achieved his 200 hours award of excellence with the Gold mark scheme with Volunteer Now. He is the youngest to achieve this so quickly within NI. Philip is also a young carer with his 2 siblings to his Mum who suffers from MS and is a single parent yet he still obtains a good academic record at at his Grammar school. He won the MS Society`s young carer of the year with his brother. Philip also helps at a local church serving xmas dinner to senior citizens and helping out where required.
