I have known Philip Campbell for seventeen years; first as a coach at Haringey Sports Development and then a freelance sports instructor at Coleridge Primary School where I teach and where the staff has unanimously asked me to nominate him. Working across the Primary age range, Philip promotes excellence in sport, inspires and enthusing all the children who come in contact with him. Without exception, the children all admire and respect him and try of their very best. Whilst running a special club for the most able and training distance runners at lunchtimes, he shares the de Coubertin 's maxim 'not to win, but to take part', providing special session to an autistic child during his break, and particularly supporting those who find sports more difficult. I have never heard a negative remark from Philip - every child has ability and potential. Every child at school urges you to select Philip.
