Philip Barker

Philip is a lovely unassuming lad who puts a lot of effort into his school work and tries very hard. He is a great role model and has had a positive impact upon the school as well as also caring for his disabled mother at home. His mum recently nominated him for a North West Evening Mail Award. She is a single mum suffering from rheumatoid arthritis causing her to struggle with everyday tasks. In an Evening Mail article she said "He is absolutely fantastic. He does all sorts without ever complaining. Things like tidying, hoovering, washing pots. He's even learning to do a bit of cooking - his specialty is lasagne." She said: "When I told him the Evening Mail were coming, he said: 'Why? I only do it because I love you'.
