Peter Fry

Peter has regularly helped with volunteering for major sailing events at the National Sailing Academy at Portland. His passion for both the Olympics and South Dorset has been shown in interviewing volunteer candidates for the Olympics in March 2011, volunteering for Dorset's first cultural event with the Inside Out organisation back in 2008 and taking an active part in running with the Olympic flag as part of the Handover Relay in 2008. For the last 3 years, Peter has assisted the organiser of the local Spirit of The Sea Maritime Festival with various administrative duties,allocation of banners, flags and programmes and selling raffle tickets. Peter has spent many years fund-raising for the charities 'Action Medical Research' and 'SPARKS' by running marathons, a parachute jump and founding a charity golf tournament which raised £36,000. Peter has also written 4 books on sports history.
