Peter's nomination story

Peter has always been passionate about sport, and has dedicated his life to inspiring others, particularly children with disabilities and learning difficulties to improve their lives and their relationships with others through sporting activity. Despite his own learning difficulties, Peter has worked tirelessly to establish and maintain sports programs that enrich the lives of disabled and underprivileged children in the North East and to fundraise for Disability Sport England while also studying for a foundation degree in sports coaching in his spare time and playing rugby for his County squad. He is an inspiration to others through his determination to overcome any obstacle to achieve his goals, he is selfless in the time and care he gives to others, is a true team player and is a real role model for children as to what they can achieve in the face of adversity through commitment and effort. He gives 100% to everything he does, and there is nothing he won't do to benefit others, from bungee jumping or running half marathons to playing rugby with a broken foot so not to let the team down or taking children on adventures they will never forget on ships or up mountains. He has made a big difference in the lives of so many children as well as in the lives of his colleagues and team mates and all he has done for others cannot possible be listed here.
