Peter's nomination story

(Commercial North West Green Pastures CBS) Peter purchased a holiday camp from previous owners over 40 years ago. It has provided low cost or paid for holidays for thousands of young people and still goes on. He is a trustee for the charity CYF. In 1999, as pastor of the then Argyle Road, he purchased with funds from his pension and a gift from a church member, two flats to house homeless people. This has grown into a £16m portfolio housing homeless and needy people across the UK. He has used his knowledge gained at grass roots to speak to those in goovernment and high places about the needs of the marginalised. He is a defender of the poor and believes in practical help, not just words. He began a soup kitchen, has formed a food bunk and now a new social enterprise with his team. A life lived to the full.
