Pauline's nomination story

Pauline lost her daughter Charlotte in August 2007 after battling anorexia. Charlotte was just 18 years old. Charlotte had been let down by the NHS as help for her had been delayed when her weight plummeted. Ever since Charlotte's death Pauline has not only raised large amounts of money through running marathons and donating compensation to eating disorder charity BEAT, but Pauline and her husband Chris have spent much of their savings on lawyers to ensure a better system is in place within the NHS for people like their daughter Charlotte. They succeeded this year in seeing the CEDS set up as a result of what has happened. A community wide project. Pauline has made a huge difference to a small part of our community but maybe a part that don't always feel they can speak out for themselves.
