Paul Whiting

Paul has not only coached me to become an international table tennis player and Lloyds TSB local hero, he has enabled and encouraged so many others to be the best they can be- on and off the table. Before volunteering as a coach at Woolwell Table Tennis Club for 8 years, he was an International athlete and Commonwealth Medallist. However, this is not only why he is a brilliant coach and received'ETTA Coach of the Year'- it is his passion, dedication and determination to help others. He is now our regional coach and has not only thrown himself into it- creating new training opportunities, trips abroad and more making us twice the players we were, he always exceeds his job description and puts in endless extra hours to ensure our sporting experiences are as enjoyable as possible and a life-long part of our lives. Inspiring and selfless people like Paul are what Torch bearers are all about.
