I nominate Paul, a community hero! 44 years old and married for 25 years, a father and a grandfather. The whole time, Paul has been a pillar of the community. Starting with 11yrs served in the Army as a Military Policeman, he did his tour of Bosnia before becoming ill with Cancer. He fought his own battle with Cancer whilst being a positive influence on other cancer sufferers, doing what he could to help others. As well as charity fun runs to raise money. He has studied Taekwondo for 20 years, fighting for the Army he was awarded is Army colours, also teaching the Police control and restraint. He has always gone above and beyond to help other people. Paul owns his own Sport Taekwondo club WTF, where he teaches all ages. Joining all sport incentives to help kids have an opportunity to try it and going out of his way to help people achieve their best and be the best they can be, and always with a positive attitude. He also referees Nationally. From working in a children's home, he is now a Foster Carer, helping to look after 4 children in care, in his own home trying to give them a chance. Paul is also a retained Fire fighter in our small village. Giving up his time and risking his life so his local community can be kept safe. Paul would be a brilliant example of someone who has overcome adversity and still remained selfless, constantly giving of him -self to help others. He is an inspiration and our community would be proud to see him carry the torch.
