Paul's nomination story

Paul is a very proud Mancunian - He loves Manchester for it's people and community spirit. When the recent riots occurred in Manchester Paul's first thought was what could he do to help. So he used social networking site Twitter to help coordinate clean ups - spreading the word and trying to get as many people aware of the clean up efforts as he could. Not one to stand by and watch Paul was in the city first thing armed with his brush, gloves, bags and ready to get to work. He took time off from his work to get his city clean and back the way it should be. He spoke to lots of commuters and people in town that day about what he was doing and how they could help if they wanted to. Paul is a strong believer in community and has volunteered his services to the Commonwealth Games, has applied for the Olympics as a volunteer as well as he wants to show other people how proud he is of not just being English but Mancunian too. He is always ready to step up and help out even if it means being gloved up picking up other people's mess in order to have his city the way it should be - safe and looking great for other people.
