Paul Mc Lister is a young man who I had the priviledge of meeting five years ago and since then I have been in awe of him. Paul is a Wheel Chair user and he works around quite severe physical disabilities. Studying for his Business Information and Technology Degree at Queens University Belfast he lives and travels independently - an inspiration to everyone who knows him. He is a key member of the Knights Basketball Club based in Antrim, playing since he was ten years old and progressing to become a key member of the senior squad captaining both the 2nd and 1st division teams. Paul is also a level 1 wheelchair backet ball coach devoted to the underage section of the Knights Basket Ball Club. Pauls awards are too many to mention. Recentlly Paul applied and successfully completed 'In the Loop' training in order to become a consultee with a local government Disability Working Group. This group campaigns locally for disability equality policies. Paul has become a voice for this campaign. He is a shining light for people with disabilities. This is on top of his studies and his part time job. Paul shines as brightly as any torch. He is an inspiration for those privileged to know him. People like Paul come into our lives for a reason, they are the road signs of life and should we choose to take the direction they give, we begin a journey that can lead to the highest level of self discovery and overwhelming achievement . He deserves his moment to shine.
