Paul was involved in major overseas sports operations for BBC Television, including every Summer and Winter Olympics since the Moscow Games of 1980. As Chief Technical Co-ordinator, International Operations he was since 1986 responsible for the overall technical and resource planning of numerous such overseas events for BBC Sport, many of them award-winning, including all Summer and Winter Olympics, three World Football Cups, and several Commonwealth Games. Paul was Technical Director for the BBC Host Broadcast operation for the 2002 Commonwealth Games in Manchester - the largest multi-sport event to be staged in the U.K. to date. He was also involved in advising the Bid Committee for the 2012 London Olympics in the areas of Media and Technology. In 2006, he was responsible for the BBC Resources operation for the Winter Olympics in Torino, and the Commonwealth Games in Melbourne. After the highly successful 2008 Olympics in Beijing, Paul joined Madrid-based Olympic Broadcasting Services, Host Broadcaster for the Olympic Games, as Head of OBS London.
