While acting as a fundraiser for NSPCC in Northern Ireland I met Paul, he was a keen local athlete and was undertaking a Polar Marathon on the Arctic Circle, no mean task, Paul his wife family and friends raised an amazing £7300 to help children through the NSPCC. This had not been Pauls only fundraising at a community level, he had previously raised £2300 for the Ulster Cancer Foundation by running the London 2005 marathon, whilst a member of Pegasus AC. As a member there he raised a lot for various charities the members nominated. He was always a leader on these efforts involved with organising these events and helping to make sure they all maximised the income for the nominated charities. Paul has been a committed athlete both in his own right and supporting others through his club to learn and grow on the athletics circuit in Northern Ireland. In his own words Paul would consider it an honour and privilege to carry the torch for a short distance through his home town or local area, in what will be a once in a life time opportunity.
