Patrick's nomination story

My son Patrick was born with a displaced hip and spent 6 months in a splint. As a young child he on 2 occasions lost the use of his legs through irritable hip and was in hospital on traction for many months. After much excercise and determination he was able to walk again and finally start running again. Through running school cross country for many years and then being picked to run for his county of Gloucestershire he was able to pluck up the courage to train for and finally run his biggest run and greatest achievement the 'London Marathon' in 3 hrs 51 mins and raised over £1,600.00 for the charity 'Winston's Wish', a local charity for beareved children. He has over come so much and would be a worthy candidate to be a torch bearer in 'The Olympic Games 2012'.
