Patrick's story is remarkable. For 20 years he has worked voluntarily within his community, from responding to a newspaper appeal for an u18s Manager to coaching Scouts & Cubs. So when a neighbour's son casually remarked that his new school provided no extra-curricular football Patrick stepped in. For 6 years he single-handedly ran clubs for all years coaching children of 9 nationalities some with no English: All had the desire to take part with fairness. One team played at Sheffeild United's ground and played a Tournament in Ireland, camping in his sister's garden. They inspired Patrick to become a teacher. Free-time sees him pounding the beat as a Special Constable, as a Council Snow Warden, and recently attending Selection for the Press Team at The Olympics. His passion ensures he'll continue volunteering. Carrying the Flame would champion this modest man who is making a difference.
