Paddy's nomination story

My brother Daniel was diagnosed last June with 'Desmoplastic Sarcoma' a rare form of cell cancer. At the time of diagnostic there were less than 300 people in the world with this form, it's an extremely aggressive mutation.

Because of the rarity of this disease there is not a lot of research into a cure.

This disease usually affects boys and young men under 30; at most there is a 5 year survival rate. However this is again very rare and only 15% of those diagnosed will survive that long.

Unfortunately Daniel lost his 11 month battle aged 18 on the 11th of May this year.

My family are determined to raise as much money as we can for TCT charity as our way of thanks for the huge support they gave us.

Daniel was an extremely keen footballer and played in clubs from the age of 5.

Daniel played for Dorset youth teams. He also played at academy level for a short time before he was diagnosed for Leicester and Weymouth and was also due to have England youth trials.

My nomination is for my brother Paddy who has been an absolute rock for all of Daniels friends and our family. We are furiously raising money for teenage cancer trust and we would love the oppurtunity for paddy to hold the torch and advertise our website that we use to raise money for TCT. Paddy set up a support network when my brother passed away and I would love to see him have something so amazing to look forward to after all his hard support work for everyone else. He is an absolute inspiration.
