Carrying the Flame on | |

I believe my Mum should be given the opportunity to carry the Olympic flame as she is positively a selfless and extremely caring person who does vast amounts for the community in which we live, both in her professional and personal life. She is employed as the head secretary in our local high school and goes well beyond and above the call of duty for the pupils ensuring her door is always open and personally oversees that those pupils with extra needs are always looked out for and their needs met. In her personal life she is devoted and passionately active for Macmillan charity and even though she suffers from Fybromyalgia she is actively involved in raising huge amounts of money for the cause as well as organising and attending events. Her work in the community lead to her being nominated for a community award ran by the local council for her efforts but unfortunately she missed out on winning. Personally my Mum has been an absolute rock for me as I suffer from a mental illness and no matter what is going on in her life she is always there for me and I would love her to get some recognition just for being her.
