Paola Mitchell

Paola works as part of an Exercise Refferal Team designing exercise routines to help people of mixed backgrounds improve their fitness for a better quality of life. Paola is an inspiration to her clients through her never ending enthusiasm and compassion. As a valued member of the team she has helped and continues to help the elderly and those affected by chronic disease or illnesses. Paola is larger than life and has a smile and encouragement for everyone helping her get the best from those she is training. They all adore her. In her spare time she raises considerable funds for Jersey Hospice in part by taking part in cycle challenges in Vietnam, Equador and soon South Africa. Through her job as a personal trainer Paola is hugely inspirational to all her clients and everyone she meets by educating them about sport, exercise and nutrition. She has helped clients recover from major illness as well as improving fitness with the aim of passing vocational fitness assesments. Paola as a young lady represented Jersey in the Island Games in volleyball and has subsequently helped to train and mentor other volleyball teams inspiring them to do well and follow her example. She thrives on being part of a team and will even offer her services as a massage therapist just to help out free of charge. Paolas personality and enthusiasm make her a hugely popular and well known character in island of Jersey. I can think of no one more fitting to carry the Olympic torch.
