Lara's duties as an admin have grown over the past few years as she not only got to look after recruitment but also to develop Trainee Managers into Shift Manager's by holding weekly MDP1 workshops that assist them with the fundamental skills they need to implement once they start running shifts. At the beginning of the year, she stepped up to the challenge of becoming a Golden Pen to help people gain a Level 2 Apprenticeship in Hospitality. Being a Golden Pen is her way of giving back to the community as she works on a one to one basis with the many of the apprentices to make the feel more confident about their numeracy and communication skills. With the qualification and tutoring, they gain a sense of pride and have the ability to help their children with their homework for instance, get involved in school governors and also help out with community meetings. To date she have assisted over 100 learners to gain their qualification.
