I nominate the above person because I think she is a shining example of perseverence and courage for the youth of today.Olivia is 16 years old and has just completed 10 GCSE's, of which she is expected to achieve A star in every subject.... OLIVIA has CYSTIC FIBROSIS and every day is a battle to stay alive.Diagnosed as a baby,Olivia has endured many months in hospital (total of 2 years lost in education)& still continues to undergo many intrusive procedures which take her back into hospital for treatmeant. Olivia must take 80 tablets each day and have gruelling physio before she can begin her day at school.Despite this, she is highly motivated to achieve and live every day of her life to the full. She is a talented artist and accomplished musician (saxaphone) and participates in sport when she is able to. Olivia has recently taken up running and is enjoying it immensely. Her dedication & contribution to school life has gained her the Havering'Young Citizen of the Year' award 2008 & Jack Petchey award 2007 for outstanding achiever. She is an inspirational teenager and is a perfect example of determination and perseverence to overcome major, life threatening health issues. She has an amazing family, exudes energy & can make the most energetic of us feel guilty that we don't always make the most of our health & opportunities that life offers us! This really would be a once in a lifetime opportunity for Olivia & her family/friends would be proud to see her participate & enjoy! Olivia has completed 11 GCSEs, gaining 4A*, 6A and 1B grades
