Olivia's nomination story

Olivia represents the school for a number of sporting activities including Netball, Hockey and Rounders. At Hockey training she is always determined to succeed and improve her performances. She is encouraging to younger pupils and regularly assists with Y7 training. Olivia is a great listener and leader which makes her a great captain and role model for her peers. As captain she always shows respect for her team, opposition and officials. Olivia is always the first player to thank the referees at the end of the game and encourage her team mates to do the same. Olivia captained the Y8 Hockey team to success in the Scunthorpe Schools Mini Hockey Tournament. She was a real driving force in the success. As a result the girls got through to the next round which included some private schools with elite performers. The girls struggled in the tournament however Olivia kept team spirits high showing courage and determination to keep defence tight and the score down. She reminded the team that they were representing the school and also to enjoy playing as that is what sport is about.
