Ollie was part of a community football project in his local community of Three Legged Cross, Wimborne. The community project was a coordinated in Partnership with Active Dorset County Sports Partnership, the Dorset Football Association and East Dorset Housing Association, where Ollie's parents are tenants. The project worked in some of Dorset's most deprived areas and encouraged youngsters to take a pride in their neighbourhood, build relationships with young people, and promote a healthier lifestyle. Ollie's passion and drive for the game led him to become a recognised leader in the community project locally, achieving his level one coaching qualifications and volunteering on a daily basis in order to coach local children in his area. Since a lack of funding ended the community project, Ollie has continued his involvement in local football by running a children's football team putting his new found skills to good use.
Ollie is an excellent example of someone who despite coming from a disadvantaged background has embraced a community approach to providing focussed and meaningful activity for local people. CR
