Olive Lycett

From the minute that Olive was appointed as Co-ordinator of the Olympic Volunteering Project, 'Inspirations 32', Olive has shown unwavering commitment and passion to the volunteers that are part of this project. Olive is a deaf British Sign Language user along with the 32 volunteers. Olive has inspired their motivation to strive for their goals, be proud to be deaf and demonstrated that deafness need no longer be a barrier. Watching the relationships grow between the volunteers and Olive has been a vision to behold. Their skills and confidence has increased no end from the professional training they have taken part in, meaning they are truly inspired to take part, no matter what. Olive has continued to go over and above her role to ensure that the volunteers and indeed the wider deaf community can access the Olympic Games and Paralympic Games in the same way as their hearing counterparts.
