Angie's nomination story

Angie joined Breakthrough Breast Cancer's Isle of Man group in 2004, two years after being diagnosed with breast cancer. Today she leads the group and in 2010 was joined by twelve other supporters in a climb to the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro. That climb raised £73,000 and the group's total over its twenty years of dedicated support is now £1.4 million.

Angie's strong voice and knowledgeable leadership has contributed to the Isle of Man having an outstanding level of breast cancer awareness and a vibrant and committed fundraising community. She is a shining example of how many lives you can touch when you offer an abundance of optimism, energy and encouragement.

With over 48,000 women diagnosed every year, Angie's support of Breakthrough's research really does make a difference. Without Angie, Breakthrough's work would not be able to reach out to as many people as it does. Angie is indispensible to Breakthrough and a wonderful candidate.
