Norah's nomination story

Norah Button is only one of two ladies awarded Freedom of the City the other Bessie Braddock, She was given Honorary Fellowship by JMU for outstanding contributions to the performing arts Carl Alan award for services to dance. Her commitment of supporting young people in performing arts is outstanding As principal of Liverpool Theatre School she has brought national funding and accreditation to Liverpool for Musical Theatre training. She has a drive and enthusiasm for supporting others and a phenomenal energy that has galvanised those around her, all of which has kept her and staff going over the years in good and challenging times, and her life force has generated and sustained much interest in the region. She has devoted her life to improving facilities and access to Musical theatre for students who have potential but have not always had the benefits of quality training And has changed the world of Musical Theatre Training. She has always lived in Liverpool and is passionate about her City, is now 72 but has the fitness and drive of a 30yr old; I think that this honour would make her think she has gone to heaven. She will be the ideal person to represent senior citizens
