I wish to nominate my husband Noel McGillian - he has been a member of the North West Mountain Rescue Team for the last 18 years. The team is a voluntary unpaid 999 service and is a registered charity. During this time he has been committed to the team in Operations which are at any time of the day, any day of the year, ongoing training and constant promotion and fundraising for the Team. He works in the Department of Employment and Learning and has a caseload of clients who are Disabled or on Health related benefits, sourcing Development, Training and Employment opportunities for them. He also volunteers at the Ulster American Folk park in 'living history' events. I am a disabled person myself and he is my carer. Being a torch bearer would be a boost for himself in his work and activities and publicity for a hardworking 999 service. (and something for our 11 year old daughter to be proud of)
