Nigel Richardson

Nigel my husband, has for the last 23 years had a huge positive involvement in grassroots football coaching for children aged 4-16 years in the area, a number of these children have had both physical and mental disabilities. He has organised funweeks for up to 180 children, formed links with local boys football clubs to enable as many as possible to have the chance to play the game in local leagues. For the last 17 years he has delivered coaching courses on behalf of the English FA in the Yorkshire area enabling and assisting many coaches to develop their coaching skills. About 170 children who have attended weekly coaching clinics have gone on to sign forms at football clubs Centre of Excellence and Academies. He has touched, helped and supported so many people in his coaching career and I strongly believe he would be a proud man to be able to carry the torch especially in his home City
