Nicky Wardale

Many of Hethersetts children owe their first steps in education to Nicky Wardale the Supervisor at Hethersett Pre School Playgroup. She has supported hundreds of children and their families ensuring that their first steps into education are positive, fun and happy. Nicky has been involved with the Pre School Playgroup for 18 years, initially as a volunteer, but after funding her own training was appointed to the role of Supervisor, a position she has held for 13 years. During that period she has spent many unpaid hours developing the curriculum of the playgroup to ensure the very best experience for the children. She leads by example, spending much time with the children nurturing their development. In addition she has developed the administration to a more professional basis to ensure the very best for all children whatever their needs. Nicky has also initiated and overseen, in conjunction with the First School Head Teacher, the move of the Playgroup from a hired Church Hall to a dedicated mobile in the grounds of the First School & Nursery in order to provide a seamless progress from the Playgroup to the Nursery.

Nicky also spent 10 years from 2000 - 2010 as a governor of Hethersett Woodside First School & Nursery where she was responsible for Child Protection, Special Educational Needs and Curriculum. She has played an active part in the development of the school during this period as well as assisting at many school events. CR
