If you've ever attended one of Nicola's running groups - it will have undoubtedly made an impression. Possibly because the next day your legs will remind you that you willingly ran up mountains, (ok small hills), but more likely because you'll remember how much you'd enjoyed it and giggled your way through the session. And if you really thought about it, it would be because you ran further or faster than you ever thought possible. Three days a week Nicola gives her free time to lead running fitness groups. And on Saturdays she participates and regularly volunteers at the Albert ParkRun, ensuring that 100+ runners a week enjoy a free, fun timed 5K. In the last three years she has inspired, motivated, encouraged and cajoled over 100 women who believed "running wasn't for them" to take up the sport and make running part of their weekly fitness routine. She's a great friend, coach and mentor. Through our running we're undoubtedly fitter but more importantly we're more confident and happier. Nominating Nicola as a torchbearer is our small way of saying a very big thank you.
