Nicky Parker

Nicky has dedicated her life to helping people with Down's Syndrome fighting for their rights and helping them achieve their goals. Nicky is Chair of the Swindon Down's Syndrome Group and last year we were given the Queens Award for Voluntary Service. This award was down to all the hard work Nicky has put into the group. She is constantly thinking of new things our members can do, we have just completed our 3rd year of the Salamander fire course run with the Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service in Swindon. A week with 15 young men learning to be firefighters and completing all the things the real firefighters do. Nicky's tireless work has given our members an opportunity in life to do things that are not usually available to people with disabilities and she has made sure they have achieved every one of them.
