Neil's nomination story

Neil Smith works as a dog handler for Suffolk Police - but over the past 9 years has raised over £70,000 for charity by cycling the width and breadth of the UK and abroad - the first challenge of which was riding 1,800 miles from Canada to Mexico and which challenge was nicknamed Bobby on a Bike . And so the name lives on, Neil continues to cycle with friends and colleagues raising funds for various charities which have included the Prostate Cancer Charity, Each, Break the Pattern, St Elizabeth Hospice, American Lung Association, Cancer Research UK to name but a few. Neil also wrote a book about his experiences the profits of which also went to charity. Neil not only gives up hours of his time, and overcomes personal challenges but still manages to help run the family home. A truly remarkable person who deserves a once in a lifetime opportunity.
