Natalie's nomination story

Sport gave Natalie the will and determination to overcome M.E. When eventually diagnosed aged 15 Natalie refused to give up her place in the local girls football team or U15 England Rounder's Team. Over the years she gradually increased her amounts of activity and built herself up never missing a match or International. Now 95% recovered Natalie still has hurdles to overcome but wants other youngsters to know sport can heal and M.E. isn't for ever. She continues to play football and rounder's locally. Natalie now works as a sport/play assistant at a Junior School. The Head Teacher supports her nomination. Daily she inspires children in and out of school time to participate and encourages them to achieve which enhances their learning. She is using sport to heal pupils with emotional, health and behavioural difficulties - and herself! Carrying the torch is an honour Natalie relishes and truly deserves
