Naomi's nomination story

Naomi Powell has been a volunteer for a local Yorkshire charity, Tia Greyhound Rescue for the last six years.

Tia Greyhound Rescue rehabilitates and rehomes unwanted and sometimes very sick and mistreated, dogs.They rely entirley on fundraising and have rehomed over 2000 dogs since it was founded in 1997.

Naomi created a 2011 charity calendar, which sold 2000 copies and raised around £10,000 after costs. And a cartoon book, of which circa 1000 copies were produced and discussions are currently underway to turn it into a Radio 4 programme - it's on track to raise £2000. To sell both of these she created an eBay shop which has helped raise awareness. Naomi is well under way in producing the 2012 calendar and hopes to raise a further £10,000 with this years edition.

As well as fund raising support she helps the charity's founder in relation to legal queries and collects donations of items for sale in the charity's shops from supporters across Yorkshire.

Naomi Makes a Difference by using her business skills to deliver some amazing fundraising results for charity as well as raising awareness for this special cause.
