Nancy has been a long time volunteer for the Association of Ontario Snowboarders, assisting in running Provincial and National snowboard competitions. These contests are sanctioned contests for JR to Advanced snowboarders to collect points which you need to enter into the Olympics. She has spent a great deal of her free time travelling to and running contests all over Ontario and Quebec. Her commitment since 2001 is down to her real passion for the sport and for athletes. She understands that these athletes invest a lot of time and money in to their sport and so works hard to try and support them. She has hosted contests with government assistance in small towns that have never had sanctioned events before. These sanctioned events are essential to enter the Olympics. In addition to the major resort athletes, it is incredible to visit these smaller towns and discover hidden talents, and then working with these people to push them in their careers ( and comforting parents along the way?) She had some athletes in particular go immediately from their first contest in northern Ontario- to provincial and then NATIONAL contest. Allowing young athletes to go on and achieve their goal is her major driver for her efforts and she truly is passionate about the sport and the athletes themselves.
