Imran Naeem

Imran is an inspiration to everyone who is lucky enough to meet him. I have known him for the last few years as a colleague at Middlesbrough Council and can honestly say I have yet to meet anyone who is as hardworking and humble as he. His primary role is Public Health Officer and Imran works with all our communities and is equally admired by all. He has worked endlessly with the young people across Tees Valley on a range of sporting initiatives including the Natural Progression Gym, which involves him teaching boxing to young people from all backgrounds. The You tube clip (Capture - Boxing Clever) can articulate much better than I can how the youngsters benefit. Last year Imran was awarded the Young Peoples Award at the regional BME Awards. Imran`s work both paid and voluntary has increased community cohesion in Tees Valley 100%. I, like many others, recommend Imran for the honour of Torch Bearer without reservation.
