Michelle's nomination story

Michelle suffers from Cystic Fibrosis which never slows her down. Her infectious happiness and drive for life touches everyone she meets. In the future I hope to work as a biomedical scientist and research the molecular processes behind diseases - possibly finding new therapy targets. I used to be a competitive runner before my lungs got alot worse.. since I now need oxygen to do it I usually run on a treadmill now but had a brilliant time jogging a cancer research 10k with a good friend carrying my tank for me! I'd love to do a marathon one day just to get round preferably in a silly costume to raise money for both CF and Cancer. My lungs misbehavior has played a large part of my life and threatened to stop me from enjoying sports and from finishing my degree but I've been very lucky in still being able to do both. Determined to carry on for as long as possible!
