Mike Spicer

A few years ago Jake Spicer, the son of Michael, became seriously ill and knew that the condition could become terminal. Jake then devoted himself to raising money for good causes and was assisted by his father, Michael. Sadly, Jake was unable to overcome the illness and passed away aged 15 and despite his loss, Michael has continued to support local causes in the memory of his son. I think it would be a wonderful way to recognise the work that Michael has been doing, assisted by his family - to carry the Olympic Torch in what should be a memorable year.
