Michael's nomination story

Michael is our loverly son, such an inspiration to all friends and family. In March 2010 at the age of 19 Michael was diagnosed with a blood cancer (Hodgkins Lymphoma). It rocked his world and unfortunatley he lost his apprenticeship whilst he was sick. Michael underwent 6 month chemotherapy and 12 weeks radiotherapy and is now in remission. Michael has raised so far over £11k for charity within a year. When half way through his chemo he ran a 5k run for Lymphoma and Lukemia research. Then with the help of his family and sister Laura's school they raised over £9k (whickham school). Last week 17/7/11 Michael completed the 10k North Run in preparation for his Great North Run in Sept 11. All money raised for Charlie Bear for Cancer Care Charity, we have raised money for a tv and other equipment for ward 36 at the Freeman Hospital. he won the Journal Hall of Fame award in 3/11.xxx
