Michael Lyons

Whilst Michael was General Manager at Holiday Inn Leicester he linked with the local Young Enterprise organisation and became a Volunteer to work with them. Michael set up the Leicestershire West Board of Young Enterprise. The Board was made up of Local Business people who all gave up their time to volunteer to support the Young Enterprise Intiative. This involved attending meetings, visiting local schools and colleges to act as a Mentor to support them through the year long process of Young Enterprise, attending Trade fairs and bi monthly Board meetings. Michael was elected Chairman of the Board, a position he held for 2 years. In 2011 the local College that he was supporting went on to win the National award for Young Enterprise, they will go forward to represent the UK in Europe later this year.

Michael has also entered a number of Marathons and more recently ran the London Marathon to raise money for LOROS, a Cancer Hospice in Leicester due to a number of employees and there family memebers at the Holiday Inn Leicester who had received support from this local charity raising £2,100. CR
