Mike Liptrot

Mike is inspirational, dedicating his life to ensuring others reach their potential. Mike has been a member of Kendal Judo Club for 42 years. For 30 years he has encouraged others to achieve their goals and helping young people become GB players. He is a North West Regional and Great British Support Coach, was an international judo player and a British Team member for 10 years. Mike ran a local schools judo programme, taking judo to over 2000 youngsters. He teaches all the sporting fundamentals, introducing discipline, self recognition and personal goals and takes 150 young people for judo lessons. He has three young men hoping to compete for their country in 2012. Through him Kendal Dojo has gained official pre-Olympic training camp status. Boxers from Nauru visited Kendal to train for 2012. The GB Judo team has also trained here.
