Mike has been an inspirational leader for the NHS 2012 Challenge and more generally for increasing participation in sport and physical activity to improve health and wellbeing. His role as NHS Sport & Physical activity champion is over and above his day job. Despite taking on a new role earlier this year he's maintained his commitment and enthusiasm for the NHS Challenge believing it will improve the health and wellbeing of NHS Staff this in turn will have a positive impact on patients. He's truly embraced the inspirational power of the Olympics, including reference to it in his first speech as CEO at NHS Confed conference and arranging for the Olympic torch to be brought to the event to inspire others. Mike has used the Olympics to inspire a variety of projects in NHS and communities nationally and in the North West. Mike is a board member for Sport England. CR
