Mick's nomination story

Mick has a real passion for running and he uses his sport to raise money for various charities, through gaining sponsorship. He has taken part in the Humber Bridge Half Marathon, many times, this year he (along with a work collegue) raised £1040.00 for Cancer Research UK. Last year another of his friend's & work collegue's baby son was diagnosed with an incurable fatal rare disease, Krabbe's Leukodystrophy, Mick ran the same event to raise money for the family and awareness of the disease by wearing a T-shirt with the baby's photo and details outlining the disease. He has also taken part (along with his wife, Louise and then 6 year old daughter Leah) in a 10K Memory Walk for the local hospice, also last year the whole family did the Santa Dash, a 5K run, for the same cause. Mick is currently in the ballot for the London Marathon 2012 where, if successfull, he will again run for charity.
