Brian has been involved in cycling for more than forty years, firstly as a competitor before going on to volunteer as a race commissaries. Brian was first elected to British Cycling's National Council in 1984, became President in 1996 and has been credited with turning round the sport with record winning Olympic medal success coming on his watch.
Recognition for Brian's contribution to cycling came with being awarded British Cycling's highest honour, the Gold Badge of Honour in December 2006 and an OBE from the Queen in 2008.
Brian is a qualified UCI International Commissaries and a member of the Executive Committee of the British Olympic Association
Brian has always been committed to developing cycling from the grassroots through to the elite level and has been a key figure in cycling's fight against anti-doping.
