Micky Clorley

Mick has been an active participant in Local sports events over a large number of years. He has played and helped run numerous football teams and has been the mainstay in running the successful Phoenix Cricket team which plays at the Hospital. He has been Groundsman/ Captain/ Secretary in order to keep the Club running. In March 2010 Mick was diagnosed as having Bowel Cancer and had to undergo a Major Operation and then extensive therapy treatment. Throughout all this he remained positive and continued to be involved and indeed run and play in the above mentioned Sports. He has also now started up a Charity to raise money and awareness to help with those who suffer from this terrible illness. His never give in attitude in all he does makes him a person worthy of consideration for this high accolade.
