Mike Baldock volunteers his time and skills in support of youth sport in his local community.
Mike used his extensive knowledge of Australian Rules football and rugby to encourage young players to try innovative techniques and develop their skills beyond their expectations. Alongside this Mike has significant people development and leadership experience which he applies in mentoring coaches and players alike. Mike spends every week-end during the rugby season assisting in coaching players or advising coaches on opportunities to develop players in specific skills. He is involved in encouraging performance through active involvement at matches and training, as well as through transporting team members to games.
Mike also coaches adults and children in the sport of bodyboparding to optimise their capability in the sport, achieving fitness through an invigorating physical challenge, whilst having fun. The response of adults and children alike when they perform beyond their expectations improves self esteem and inspires them to keep improving and working at challenging themselves
He's alos using his financial management experience to mentoring the principle of a body boarding school. He's created a strategy and five year financial plan for the school. Mike has built the plan and is guiding the staff in financial control and management information they need to manage the school effectively and on a sound financial footing. The school is very important in developing the sport in the UK and Ireland and needs a sound foundation to flourish.
