My wife is an exceptional and inspiration person to all those who know her, family, friends, and community. Being registered blind she has pushed herself beyond her limits in many situations. She swam for Great Britain, winning Gold and Silver in Atlanta 1996, and Gold, Silver and Bronze in Sydney 2000. Upon retiring from swimming she took up cycling and represented Great Britain at the 2007 cycling World Championships, and then after begining to run she took up triathlon and became the Paratriathlon World Champion in 2008. Always one for a new challenge she has taken up rowing and is now competing for Warwick. Melanie has also excelled academically and has gained 3 degrees and inspires others through her work as an NHS Senior Physiotherapist, and recently started up her own small practice. Melanie is very active in the community. She has supported many local events and gives motivational talks to schools, clubs and groups; inspiring others to rise to their own challenges and to strive to achieve their dreams. As Melanie has given so much to the country and to the community and inspired so many people I'm certain there are many in Kenilworth and Warwickshire that would love to see her being a Torch Bearer and will come out to cheer her on her way!My name is mentioned several times - can this be removed to make it annonymous again?
