Megan's nomination story

Megan has clocked up over 100 hours of volunteering on the Step into Sport programme in Surrey but this is just the tip of the iceberg. Megan began volunteering aged 13 through her PE department at Woolmer Hill School and completed her sports leaders awards supporting younger children and peers in their sporting endeavours.

As a reward for her tireless efforts Megan was nominated by her PE department to attend a National Step into Sport camp at Loughborough University, Megan was lucky enough to be selected as one of 250 students attending who became Ambassadors for the Step into Sport scheme. Megan impressed the organisers and continued volunteering in sport at every opportunity as she moved on to Godalming 6th Form College and supported the PE staff there in her spare time.

The following year Megan was chosen to come back to the national camp as a mentor the following year. Megan was one of only 6 mentors selected and helped organise and deliver this national youth volunteering camp for the younger Ambassadors.

Megan is an exemplary young person, a great role model to younger children and living proof of the benefits of volunteering having grown as a person in confidence and capability. CR
